Living in Lahore – What Students Should Know
Lahore is a city that runs on food, festivals, and fierce academic competition. Living here as a student means balancing late-night chai breaks with assignment deadlines.
Student-Friendly Areas:
- Johar Town: Popular for LUMS, UET, and KEMU students. Many purpose-built hostels and rented rooms. Mess food easily available. Average rent: PKR 10,000 – 20,000 per month.
- Township: Affordable option for Punjab University students. Separate blocks for boys and girls. Average rent: PKR 8,000 – 15,000.
- Garden Town / Faisal Town: Mix of families and students. Close to PU and UET. Slightly higher rent but better amenities. Average rent: PKR 15,000 – 25,000.
- DHA (Phase 1-5): Higher-end private rooms and shared apartments. Good for students with higher budgets. Average rent: PKR 25,000 – 40,000.
- Mughalpura / Anarkali: Budget option near GCU and NCA. Older buildings but very low rent. Average rent: PKR 7,000 – 12,000.
