The problem
A room was never the whole gap
Arriving in a new city, students often have no trusted housing, no network, and no office. Listings exist everywhere. What is missing is a way to read the city, meet people already here, and become a resident — not a guest.
We are building the digital community and the physical Student Community Centres we wish had existed on day one.
Our journey
From a personal arrival in Italy to a student network
EdBirds was founded by two friends, Dr. Salman Malik and Shafat Ahmad. Salman moved to Italy for his studies and found the gap was not only a flat: it was not knowing who was already here, which office to walk into, or how Italy actually works.
That arrival became a shared mission: accommodation, services, communities, and opportunities — with a room as one door, not the whole identity.
Today both work as co-founders to grow this network city by city, starting with Napoli.
