Our Story
EdBirds was born out of a personal journey of perseverance and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students seeking higher education abroad. Our founder hails from a middle-class family in Pakistan, where pursuing education, especially at the highest levels, was uncharted territory. As the first in his family to achieve a PhD, he navigated his entire academic journey without any familial guidance, relying instead on friends and social networks.
During his Master’s program, he was fortunate to receive guidance from a friend’s brother who was pursuing a PhD in Malaysia. This mentorship was a turning point, teaching him how to read research articles, identify research questions, and most importantly, how to apply for academic programs. Despite these insights, the application process was still challenging, leading him to seek answers from online communities. It was through a Facebook group called “Scholarship Network” that he finally understood why his applications were being rejected.
This experience illuminated the critical need for proper guidance in the academic journey. Determined to help others avoid the same pitfalls, he made a promise to himself: once he succeeded, he would guide other aspirants and create a chain of support. After winning a PhD scholarship in Italy, he began fulfilling this promise, initially helping 1-2 students daily. However, he soon realized that despite his efforts, many students did not apply or faced other barriers such as fear of rejection, document preparation, and the complexity of university portals.
Understanding the prevalence of fraudulent agents in the education consultancy industry, he decided to establish EdBirds after completing his PhD. With first-hand experience of the challenges students face, coupled with his knowledge of the European education system, he set out to provide genuine, professional guidance. In our first year, we achieved a 100% admission success rate, a testament to our commitment to each student’s success.
